He is a co-founder and board member of AutismAid, founded the Lawrence Goldfarb Judicial Reform Foundation and Criminal Justice Partners. Additionally, he owns LRG Racing, which competes in the American Federation of Motorcyclists.


Larry is an avid jazz pianist, spending his spare time playing in various jazz bands and venues throughout the country or holding workshops teaching underprivileged children piano and music theory. Before leaving San Francisco, Goldfarb was on the Board of the Blue Bear School of Music.

Goldfarb grew up in the New York City boroughs outside Manhattan and attended Forest Hills High School. Following high school he attended George Washington University and earned a B.A. in International Economics, and graduated in 1981. In 1984, Goldfarb graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law School as cum laude and wrote for the Georgetown Law Journal.

Goldfarb began his career as an attorney for Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. Afterwards, he continued his career as an attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, specializing in financing, mergers and recapitalizations. After his time with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meaghar & Flom, Lawrence Goldfarb moved to San Francisco and became 

Goldfarb began his career as an attorney for Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. Afterwards, he continued his career as an attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, specializing in financing, mergers and recapitalizations. After his time with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meaghar & Flom, Lawrence Goldfarb moved to San Francisco and became a Partner and Director of the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Credit Suisse First Boston Corporation representing clients such as Cisco, Microsoft and Intel.


Through his experience at Credit Suisse as a Technology Investment Banker, Goldfarb formed the Hegde Fund BayStar Capital Management, LLC in 1998; specializing in funding publicly traded technology and biotechnology companies. BayStar Capital funded and invested in a variety of companies like World Online, XM Satellite Radio, Sirius Radio, MySpace, VirtualScopics, GlasshouseTechnologies, ViroPharma, Peer, and Napster. Goldfarb was well known for being one of the most foremost investors and experts in Private investment in public equity, also known as PIPEs. 


Goldfarb then sold Baystar Capital to Stark Investments and SDS Capital. In 2005, he founded LRG Capital Group in Larkspur, California where he served as CEO until July 2011 when he announced his retirement from active management of the company to focus on philanthropic activities. 


Goldfarb recently invested $1.5 million capital infusion into Sanitize Solutions, a Des Moines, IA based remediation company that specializes in commercial, residential and insurance projects leading the metro marketplace from the get-go in residential, commercial and insurance projects that are in need of affordable costs, critical time crunches, and fast response remediation services.


Goldfarb was also an Associate Professor in Financial Arbitrage at the Hass School of Business Master’s of Financial Engineering at University of California, Berkeley.

Goldfarb currently serves as a board member and West Coast Director of AutismAid, an organization dedicated to assisting and fundraising for other autism non-profit organizations. This non-profit is meaningful to Goldfarb as he has an autistic son who has benefited from programs similar to those AutismAid assists in fundraising for.

Goldfarb has dedicated his philanthropy to autism and diabetes. In 2010, Goldfarb was awarded The American Diabetes Association's Father of the Year Award. Additionally, he has served on the boards of various non-profits & organizations. 


In 2014 Goldfarb plead guilty to one count of wire relating to one of the hedge funds he managed. He served 10 months in prison. He also entered into a consent decree with the Securities and Exchange Commission to not be involved in the financial markets for 5 years. His trading licenses and privileges have since been reinstated. Through his experience with the American criminal justice system and its inequities towards the poor and minorities; Goldfarb has focused his efforts on helping those caught up in a corrupt and unjustifiable criminal justice system in America by forming the Judicial Reform Foundation and Criminal Justice Partners. He has worked tirelessly to help those who cannot afford adequate legal representation in a system that favors the rich and powerful over the poor and disadvantaged.
